Shotgun Night Multiplayer Update!


Shotgun Night is a simple high score defense shooter originally made for Mini Jam 117: Ghosts in 72 hours. Now a few weeks later, I'm releasing a post-jam update featuring a brand new local multiplayer mode!

Versus Mode

In the new Versus mode, you and a friend compete in getting the most kills while play through the game. The person with the most kills, will be followed by the crown. Every enemy gives the same amount of points, so it might be smarter to go for the easy enemies. But if both neglects the though, hard to kill enemies going directly for the grave, both of you might end up with a game over! The person with the crown in the end, will be crowned the winner.


Enemy Spawning + Ending

Some tweaks to the enemy spawning and behavior has been made. Here's a short list:

  • After a certain wave, "Droppers" and "Runners" can spawn at random. The further you are into the game, the higher the chances will be of them spawning.
  •  "Runners" won't spawn inside of each other anymore.
  • Wave balancing. The game is easier at the start, but gets harder quicker.

In addition, the game now ends after level 15 instead of just repeating the same wave forever.

P8 Version!

I'm also publishing Shotgun Night to Lexaloffle BBS so you can play it directly in Pico-8 on your computer or handheld consoles. You can also find the game's code there.
